Making New Friends During Unusual Times

 My Journey at MIT Academy of Engineering!!

In my last blog, I shared my excitement about joining MIT Academy of Engineering. 🎉🏫 Now, let's talk about how I made my new best friends despite the challenges of starting college during the COVID-19 pandemic. 🌐😷

Entering college during the pandemic meant our initial interactions were all online. 💻🏠 This was a new experience for everyone, and making friends in a virtual environment seemed daunting. 🤔😅 But as luck would have it, this unique situation led to some incredible friendships. 🌟🤝

Early in the semester, we had to form groups for our minor project. 📝🔍 This task brought about my first friendship with Shubham Kanhor, who is from Nashik. 🏡🌄 From our first conversation, it was clear that Shubham and I shared a lot in common. 😊💬 We both had similar mindsets and leadership qualities, which made our collaboration smooth and enjoyable. 🧠💪 Shubham was someone who, like me, would always come up with logical explanations even if he didn’t know the answer. 🤷‍♂️🔍 Our synergy was instant, and our friendship began to blossom from there. 🌸✨

Another great friendship started with Akhilesh Mishra, who is also from Bhandara, my hometown. 🏡🌆 The convenience of being from the same region made forming a project group logical and practical. 🚀🛠️ In online classes, many students preferred to team up with peers from their area to make coordination easier. 🌐📞

One day, I received several messages saying, “Bhai, call toh receive kar” 📲😅 These persistent texts were from Akhilesh, who was eager to connect and discuss our project. 📞🗣️ His determination to get in touch amused me, and it turned out to be the beginning of a great friendship. 🤣🤝 Little did I know, Akhilesh would become not just a project partner but a close friend with whom I now live in Hinjewadi. 🏠😂

Despite the initial challenges of online learning, these friendships made the transition smoother and more enjoyable. 😊🌐 Shubham and Akhilesh brought different strengths and perspectives to our group, and together, we navigated the complexities of our projects and coursework. 📚🛠️

As I reflect on this journey, I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made. 🙏🌟 Making friends in a virtual environment taught me the importance of adaptability and the value of reaching out. 🌐🤝 These friendships have not only enriched my college experience but also provided a strong support system as we continue our studies together. 🚀💡
